CHIANG MAI, THAILAND: sala lanna Chiang Mai, the urban boutique retreat in northern Thailand, is elevating its culinary experiences to new heights by teaming up with one of Chiang Mai’s most celebrated restaurateurs.
The hotel is pleased to announce that its popular riverside restaurant, previously known as On the Ping, will now be outsourced to Ms. Kanchana “Tim” Ubolsootvanich, owner of Wanlamun, the highly-rated Thai restaurant in Chiang Mai. As a result, this enchanting waterfront eatery will also now be known as Wanlamun.
“We are delighted to join forces with Khun Tim, who has successfully developed one of Chiang Mai’s most sought-after restaurants at Wanlamun. Khun Tim’s vision is very much aligned with that of SALA Hospitality Group – to deliver high-quality, authentic cuisine using locally-sourced, seasonal and sustainable ingredients. We look forward to introducing our guests and diners to a new era of exceptional dining on the banks of the Ping River,” said Mr. Volkert Geertsen, Cluster General Manager, sala boutique.
The newly-rebranded restaurant will welcome sala lanna’s in-house guests every morning with a choice of Asian and Western breakfasts, including many fresh and healthy options. The lunch and dinner menus will showcase a selection of delectable Thai dishes, including appetisers, Thai salads, one-plate dishes and mouth-watering main courses. Signature items include a vibrant pomelo salad and Wanlamun’s famous fried rice with river prawns. Khun Tim’s team will also craft a series of Thai sweets and pastries – the perfect end to any meal in this exquisite setting.
“sala lanna is a wonderful boutique venue in a beautiful location, and I am very excited to have this opportunity. Guests at sala lanna can look forward to discovering classical and contemporary Thai dishes, including traditional Lanna-style specialties. This is an idyllic dining destination and we look forward to creating ‘must-visit’ gastronomic experiences for guests, international visitors and local residents alike,” commented Khun Tim.
Wanlamun at sala lanna is nestled in landscaped gardens next to the boutique hotel, overlooking the Ping River and surrounded by trees. The hotel’s Rooftop Bar will still be managed and operated by sala lanna.
